Welcome to the Economic Petrology lab at California State University, Chico! We are part of the Earth and Environmental Sciences department within the College of Natural Sciences.

Researchers in this lab are undergraduate students in the Geology B.S. and graduate students in the Geosciences M.S. program, working with Dr. Hannah Aird. Our research interests center around the interaction of fluids with rocks and the role these interactions play in ore deposit formation. Our current study sites are located in northern California and Nevada.

 Research Interests: igneous petrology, economic geology, sulfide minerals,  petrogenesis of hydromagmatic ore deposits.
